The environment village is an opportunity to
to become an actor of a better world through our 4 main axes
that you can discover in the heart of the festival.

Waste management

Water access device

3 Water bars / 10 Water ramps / 20 Hair removers

Elimination of the sale of bottled water since 2021.
The Delta commits all stakeholders to use only water bottles and eco-cups.

The Delta Festival joins forces with the Société des eaux de Marseille and Ricard.

On the festival, water dispensers equipped with 5 and 10 liter isothermal bags offer water to the public.

Device against cigarette butts

250 fixed ashtrays will be installed on site at strategic points.

20,000 portable ashtrays will be distributed. All butts will be collected by Aremacs, assisted by our Green Brigade, who will make sure to pick up the butts throughout the festival. The butts are then sent to our partner Recyclop, which recycles them into energy.

food scraps

The foodtrucks will have to be signatories of a schedule of conditions and will follow a training workshop. Among the major measures of this specification charges : lhe fight against food waste, distribution of unsold food to the Food Bank, encouraging food-trucks to use local, seasonal and labelled products...

We promote the use of reusable products (Tupperware-type boxes instead of cling film, use of environmentally friendly household products, ecolabel)

The Alchemists have been repurposing bio-waste from our food trucks since 2019. In 2023, biowaste bins will be provided for festival goers in order to recycle food waste and packaging compostable. Oléovia recovers frying oils, by putting bins at the available to food-trucks. This oil will then be recycled in France for the production of biofuel.

Sorting device

The Green Brigade, a team of 500 volunteers, will ensure the cleanliness of the festival grounds. Aremacs, an association for the respect of the environment during cultural and sports events, will ensure the sorting supports and the over-sorting of the collected waste.

The recoverable waste will be given (tarpaulins, signage, wood...) to the Royère workshop and to other partners in order to revalorize them. Plastic bottles will be used to make pocket ashtrays distributed on the site.

The Metropolis takes care of the collection of recyclable waste (packaging, cardboard, plastic, glass...)

public awareness

environment hub

The HUB Environment aims to promote and support environmental commitment. It is represented by awareness-raising stands run by 60 partners.

Within the World of Possibilities, we will find associations that work to raise awareness among young people about the protection of biodiversity and inform them about global warming, as well as innovative start-ups (such as green-tech) to promote sustainable initiatives.

the eco-neighborhood by citéo

The eco district, a space open to the public, in the heart of the Environment Village, will initiate festival-goers to the 5Rs rule: Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Revalue, Recycle. The 5R method is a technique that aims to limit waste production and save money.

Clean my delta

The Clean my Delta is an operation of cleaning the beaches of the Prado, organized with the objective of making them cleaner than initially found and to raise awareness among festival-goers to this responsible approach. It will be co-organized with the associations Clean My Calanques, Wings of the Ocean and 1 Déchet par Jour, with the participation of Octop'us, Capillum and Recyclop.
